O-Rive

Project Summary:

O-Rive is a contemporary residential development situated in the revitalizing neighborhood of Montréal East. The six-story building comprises 117 modern rental units designed to enhance urban living through thoughtful architecture and community integration. The project also includes ground-floor retail spaces, fostering a mixed-use environment that caters to residents’ daily needs.

Architectural Vision:

The design of O-Rive emphasizes sustainability, community engagement, and modern aesthetics. The building’s architecture aims to create a pedestrian-friendly environment, with a volumetric composition that appeals to both residents and passersby. The integration of green spaces and communal areas promotes social interaction and a sense of belonging among residents.

Key Features:

Massing Strategy: The elongated horizontal footprint is central to the building’s identity, generating a strong linear silhouette that reads like a vessel docked within the city. This horizontal mass is rhythmically interrupted by recessed balconies and alcoves, which introduce vertical breaks across the facade. These voids create shadow depth and movement, giving the elevation a dynamic soul. More-over, the ground floor is defined by double-height ceilings that create a generous, monumental and transparent base.

Material Palette: A refined brick cladding in black, white, and grayish tones grounds the structure with elegance. The modern masonry patterning, when combined with slick, dark-framed fenestration, gives the building a contemporary urban character.

Green Roofs & Terraces: The building is topped with extensive areen roofina svstems, supportina ecological performance and thermal buffering. Private and semi-private terraces punctuate the upper levels, enhancing livability and visual interest.
